I wonder if anyone else has had similar difficulty, which would help me figure out where to look. I also left a message with support. When a software starts, I hear a clicking sound coming from the right back side of my XT. It keeps going in the right direction, but the laser stops blazing, clicks again, and starts burning again.
Stop the machine and let it sit for 10 to 30 minutes.
Remove the back of the machine and look at the tube, especially the part with the red wire. Check the tube, wire, and casing around that end for any burn scars.
It sounds like the tube is making a noise.
The clicking sound you hear when the laser starts is the normal operation of the high-voltage relay. This sound means the high-voltage circuit is being switched on to activate the laser tube.
You should also regularly check to make sure your chiller is filled with pure water.
For the XT model, there is a warmup period of about 40 seconds. It’s completely normal for the laser not to fire during this time.
If you’re still concerned, you can inspect the wiring connections. Just remember the most important thing: completely disconnect the machine power before you check!
