How do I get rid of these holes when my laser starts. I was trying to score the acrylic and it did well with that but makes these holes. See attached pics. I am sure it is a simple fix lol.
Thanks in advance

I think the most likely possibility is according to the acceleration principle of the equipment’s motion system, the laser head decelerates when reaching a corner, resulting in higher power output compared to other areas, which causes these holes. In this case, it is necessary to appropriately reduce the corner power, or the minimum power, but not too much to avoid failing to penetrate the material when you want to cut it off. This requires some experimentation to find the right setting. Hope this helps.
Regarding the device:
Remember to focus before processing. If the focal length is too short, it can also worsen burning at the corners.
Regarding the software (if you’re using LightBurn):
Lower the Min Power appropriately. The laser head goes through a “decelerate and then accelerate” process at corners. If the power at the corner is too high during this process, it can cause burnout.
Use the Overcut function. This extends the laser path by a specified distance at the end of cutting a closed shape, so the burnout problem won’t affect the shape itself.
Use the Lead In and Lead Out functions. Similarly, using these two functions can help you avoid burnout issues on the shape.
