Cutting 3mm leather on XRF

Hi! I’m working with 3mm raw leather and having trouble getting a clean cut with my XRF. Have you found it works better to go high power and slow, or lower power with more passes? So far, my cleanest result has been 20 speed / 95% power with 5 passes, but I feel like it could be improved.

Based on our test results, the required speed for processing 3mm thick leather is around 5mm/s, with the power set at approximately 90%. The power setting you used is appropriate, but the speed is slightly too fast for this type of leather.

Hi!Due to the differences in materials, if the recommended reference parameters do not achieve the desired effect on your material, we suggest that you locate the laser tool in LightBurn and click on the material test matrix to settle it–By setting the speed and power ranges and adjusting the parameters for each part of the matrix, remember to preview before processing, then based on the results of the test matrix, select the most suitable parameter combination for the leather cutting process. Hope our suggestions will help you.
