I was having troubles cutting through 1/4β baltic birch so I went through the procedure of cleaning all mirrors. Then I decide to check the beam alignment. I went through the steps of using painters tape on each mirror. The picture below is between mirrors 1 and 2. I did one pulse and the dot on the tape looked like it doubled or split (see picture below). Is this normal? Is there a way to correct this?
Please check your beam combiner for any signs of damage.
You can submit a ticket with your issue on ZOHO, and our customer service team and engineers will be able to more accurately diagnose your problem.

This should be a secondary light spot. If you also find that the power is decreasing through processing or power meter detection at the same time, then there is a problem with the laser tube. You can contact customer service for after-sales service.
However, if you do not find such a problem between the laser tube and the mirror 1, but discover it between the mirrors 1 and 2, then it should be that the position of the mirror 1 is not adjusted properly, resulting in poor beam focusing. Adjusting the optical path does indeed require a lot of patience. Hope my answer is helpful to you.
Thanks for your reply.
The bracket holding mirror one was not parallel to the laser so I adjusted that and realigned all the mirrors so they hit the center.
The dot before the combiner looks good. (See picture). But the dot mirror 2 is still doubled.
Also I find the engraving on the top of the bed is darker than the bottom.
Thanks for the reply. I have a ticket now and trying to correct it. It does seem to be after it goes through the beam combiner.
Update. I decided to try a tape test between the end of the laser and the housing of mirror 1 to see if the problem is from the laser source.
I tested this twice and the spot on the tape has what looks like a tail on the right side of the dot.
My ticket is still ongoing I guess they donβt work weekends. I hope to hear back from them tomorrow.
